Day 11 – A War is On!

Hello all! National Poetry Writing Month is on! It’s the time when poets from all around the world exhibit their love for the art of poetry writing. 😄
My poem for Day 11 is titled- A War is On!

I actually had no ideas for today and was really really close to quitting this challenge. But as the day was about to end, I gathered myself and pledged to get through this day with a poem, doesn’t matter if it’s stupid or what. So, here it is! 💁🏾‍♀️ Something on the current situation.

Death doesn’t seem like,
A distant prospect anymore.
The journey had to be longer, but
Alas, we’re reaching the exit door.
Life was a happy swim in the sea,
Now we’re stranded on the shore.
Pizza, burger, maggi, ruled our lives,
Today, nothing of it is left in the stores.
We were all happily flying our life’s planes,
Why has this Corona virus climbed on board?
Economy is sinking, like a pebble in the sea,
What has this happened, O Lord, do tell me!
Who on Earth wants to stay alone in a hospital,
With tubes dangling from his dying arms?
A war is on outside, we don’t want to be doomed,
Stay home, stay safe, things will surely be fine soon!
