Day 9 – He Held My Hand

Hello all! National Poetry Writing Month is on! It’s the time when poets from all around the world exhibit their love for the art of poetry writing. 😄

My poem for Day 9 is titled– He Held my Hand. It’s a Roundelay poem. There are four verses of six lines each, rhyming ababab. The lines repeat in pairs: the last two lines of all the stanzas are the same (that’s the refrain). Plus, the middle two lines of each stanza get reused as the first two lines of the next stanza. Have a look at my attempt!

We stood together, an ocean in sight,
And with a secret, his eyes did glow.
Staring at me with those smiling eyes,
He promised for us to love and grow.
Under the deep blue tinted skies,
He held my hand to never let go.

Staring at me with those smiling eyes,
He promised for us to love and grow.
Memories would fade, and time might fly,
But our affection would never ever slow.
Under the deep blue tinted skies,
He held my hand to never let go.

Memories would fade, and time might fly,
But our affection would never ever slow.
In lows and highs, in laughs and cries,
The boat of our relationship, we’ll row.
Under the deep blue tinted skies,
He held my hand to never let go.

In lows and highs, in laughs and cries,
The boat of our relationship, we’ll row.
In love we’ll fall, and in it we’ll rise,
Our romance will forever be aglow.
Under the deep blue tinted skies,
He held my hand to never let go.

    1. Fictional hai aur kya. Itna mushkil se rhyme scheme banaya hai poem ka, real hota toh karna nai padta ye drama. Bas emotions se kaam chal jata. 😹🤦🏾‍♀️
