Hello all! National Poetry Writing Month is on! It’s the time when poets from all around the world exhibit their love for the art of poetry writing. 😄
My poem for Day 14 is titled Parkour. It’s an Acrostic Poem. An Acrostic is a style where the first letter of each line spells out a meaningful word or a message. (In my case it’s ‘Parkour’.)
So, this is one of my favourite words, I don’t even know why. I’ve been maintaining a list of my favourite words and found this one in it today. 😹 I heard it a few months ago and the feeling associated with this word is so exhilarating. Parkour, huh! It makes me feel like a free bird, flying in the skies, carefree and happy. Such a liberating word. 🤠 Have a look at my attempt!
Pacing across the urban towns and buildings,
A traceur materializes like a roaring wind.
Rapid jumps, a roll, and three somersaults,
Kicks and climbs, those jelly bones never halt.
Oh, he’s graceful and agile, with nimble feet,
Unabashed, untamed, a blur of speed, he’s the,
Rampant Ninja of the dark streets!

I enjoyed reading this. In fact, I do Parkour to get groceries these days. Perfect way to evade fat police officers

The other day I was being nice and gentlemen to the police officers, still they smacked my ass with their lathis. So I’ve turned rebel now. I Parkour my way to the grocery store, but I also make sure to wear a mask.. you know, I don’t want to trouble the common people out there following rules and shit!

I’m the rampant ninja of dark streets. I travel at night when corona’s asleep.
How will I know if the vegetables are fresh, if i don’t pick it out myself? Home delivery is not trustworthy…I like to hunt for my own food!
