Day 15 – Sunflowers and Stargazing

Hello all! National Poetry Writing Month is on! It’s the time when poets from all around the world exhibit their love for the art of poetry writing. 😄

My poems for Day 15 are titled Sunflowers and Stargazing. They are Tanka Poems. Tanka is a 5 line poem with the syllables arranged as 5-7-5-7-7. I loved doing this one too, haha. It’s really cool and fun!

With these strict constraints on syllable count, I’m learning more about syllables too, and also I’m learning how to express myself clearly in as few words as possible! I’m someone who loves writing paragraphs of explaination, so this gave me a good lesson to not speak too much. 🤭 Have a look at my attempt!

Sunflowers

Dozing quietly
Honey petalled beauties
Blazing sun, their muse
Waking them, like Lucifer woke
Fallen Angels rise and shine!

Stargazing

A jeweled necklace
Of million glimmering stars
Hangs above, while
I lay on the dewy grass
My heart is at peace tonight.

You can check out my previous attempts at #NaPoWriMo here and here. Thankyou. This is Firefly signing off! Keep shining! Stay safe. ⭐
