Day 6 – Sunny Side Up

Hello all! National Poetry Writing Month is on! It’s the time when poets from all around the world exhibit their love for the art of poetry writing. πŸ˜„

My poem for Day 6 is titled Sunny Side Up! There’s no specific structure to this poem. It’s just uneven rhymes. A friend of mine wanted me to try out some long poems as well. Huh, here it is! πŸ˜ΌπŸ‘Š

Make the most of each day,
Smile at the birds chirping by.
Be grateful for all you’ve got,
Let love & hope decorate your life.

Help those who are in need,
And a million blessings, you’ll find!
Keep spreading smiles all along,
Hold no grudges, be gentle and kind.
Strive to excel and reach the top, but,
Also relax and doze off like a pup. 🐢
Remember to live life, sunny side up!

The world might be a ruddy red rose,
With thorns piercing from every pore,
Just keep your eyes on the roses, friend,
And the thorns won’t prick so bad anymore.

Memories stay when people go,
Years hop along, and time flies,
Some days are vibrant rainbows,
Some days are charcoal skies.
All brewed together into life’s cup,
Form a brilliant concoction,
Let’s live each day, sunny side up!

    1. Haha, memories are a gift and curse together. We can’t erase them but creating some better ones is always in our hands. 🀠 It’s our choice ki roke baithna hai ya new log se milna hai jaake.
(Punching your face and you know why! πŸ˜ΌπŸ‘Š)

    2. Waittt, what? 😹 Clusterfuck?? Bhaiya ki vocabulary top class ekdum. Please tell me the meaning of this. Also, move on huh! πŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

    3. Ohh, haan wo toh correct hai. I wish you had a hard drive to store all your bad memories. You would’ve been a different man then. πŸ˜‚

  1. “Some days are vibrant rainbows and some….. Charcoal skies..”
You have learnt so much from life which is so ostensible from your poetry. Glad that i stumbled upon your blog.

    1. Hehe, that is high praise for my work. I’m laughing inside. 😹 Life is a great teacher, but I’m a lame student. The only thing I’ve learnt is to focus on the sunny side of things. That’s it!

    2. You are so full of life. That’s beautiful. Keep writing this way. Lucky to read your blog posts.

  2. Chandni, this is a very lovely poem, extremely inspirational, it makes me feel warm all over reading it, very uplifting indeed! I also notice that you have written other impressive motivational poems in the month of April, including two favourites of mine ‘Hello Morning’ and ‘Spread Your Wings’.

I have an inspirational poetry journal called “Auroras & Blossoms Poetry Journal” that has just published its third issue and we are running a special NaPoWriMo Anthology issue for inspirational poems written in NaPoWriMo 2020. If you are interested in submitting any or all of the wonderful poems of yours that I just mentioned above (including Sunny Side Up) into our NaPoWriMo Anthology for publication then you can find more details below. We are also open to regular submissions all year round as well for inspirational poetry submissions.

    https://abpoetryjournal.com/submit/

The deadline for the NaPoWriMo Anthology is 15th May 2020.

Hope you take the time to check us out, I’m sure our readers would love to get a chance to enjoy reading your poetry πŸ™‚
